How To Watch Online Movies On Your Television

Love watching free movies online …but do you always wish that you were sitting on a comfy couch rather than a swivel chair? If you have a laptop or netbook, you can easily hook up your TV to your computer and watch online movies from the comfort of your bean bag. Here’s how.

Connection Types

You can connect your TV to your computer to watch online movies comfortably with several different connection types:

* S-video: Many computers, including laptops, have an S-video port on them. If you don’t already have one, you can buy video cards that have these ports built in for less than $100 (a decent long term investment for watching free online movies!). Then simply use an S-video to S-video cable to hook up your computer to your TV. To watch online movies on your screen, make the connection when your TV is on and your computer is off and turn the computer on once connected.

* S-video to composite cables:You may have an S-video port on your computer but not your TV- in that case simply buy an S-video to composite video/audio cable to watch free online movies.

* HDMI: Some newer computers come with HDMI ports already built in. This will give you better sound and picture quality for watching a movie online from your TV. Be aware that HDMI technology often has built-in copyright protection, so you may not be able to watch online movies that are copyrighted and obtained via ‘non-standard’means.
